A 16-metre bronze Amida Buddha at Daibutsuji Temple, celebrated for the metalworking skill of Takaoka. Visitors can enter the pedestal to see Buddhist art and the preserved wooden head of an earlier statue.
A waterfront park near Toyama Station with lawns, canal promenades and the distinctive Tenmon Bridge. Canal cruises and observation facilities have their own operating schedules; mountain visibility depends on weather.
A central city park around Toyama Castle’s reconstructed keep, moat and Local History Museum. It is easily combined with the Glass Art Museum and tram network.
