- ●Avoid coastal and mountain scenic drives when a typhoon warning is active.
Heavy snow
- ●Mountain roads may require snow tires or chains — confirm with rental car company.
- ●Shinkansen can run with delays; local lines are more affected.
- ●Pack Kairo (heat packs) and waterproof, insulated footwear.
Intense rain / thunderstorm
- ●River and lake-adjacent spots may close access paths — check spot-specific alerts.
- ●Carry a compact umbrella; convenience stores sell inexpensive ones everywhere.
- ●Museums and indoor spots are good same-day substitutes.
