Shiretoko Sea of Okhotsk Winter Drift Ice Coast
Every winter from late January to March, massive drift ice (ryuhyo) flows down from the Amur River across the Sea of Okhotsk, packing the coast of the UNESCO World Heritage Shiretoko Peninsula. Visitors can walk on the frozen ocean in drysuits and spot Steller's sea eagles.
