One of the Three Great Icicles of Chichibu (秩父三大氷柱), Ashigakubo features a colossal natural-artificial amphitheater of crystal ice 30 meters high and 200 meters wide, formed by spraying pristine mountain stream water across hillside trees. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights during deep winter, the monumental ice cliff is illuminated by vivid colorful LED light arrays that shift across blue, emerald, amber, and violet tones.
